Information
We currently employ two ASA Club Coaches who share the coaching load between them. Sharon Mulligan started coaching in the club in 1999,qualifying as an ASA Club Coach in September 2000, and after a break of about a year she came back in September 2002. She runs sessions on a Tuesday evening (shared), Wednesday morning, Friday morning and Sunday morning. Karen Dorey started coaching in the club in 2001, took the ASA Club Coach course run at Quayside Leisure Centre in August 2004 and now runs the sessions on Tuesday evenings (shared), Thursday evenings (bronze, silver and gold squads) and Saturday mornings. We elect new Club Captains every September. Our current Club Captains for 2008 to 2009 are Greg King and Grace Mulligan.
General Information
We have approximately 140 junior members, who are split into 3 squads (Gold, Silver & Bronze) depending upon ability. We train at Quayside Leisure Centre, Kingsbridge. We also have a Masters swim section for those over 19 years old. Gold Squad swimmers can access up to 9 hours of training per week; silver squad up to 8 hours and bronze squad up to 4 hours. We have strong links with Plymouth Leander Swimming Club who offer our swimmers extra sessions as required.

For many swim meets, and championships, swimmers need to be able to achieve the qualifying times set by the ASA. Please visit the Qualifying Times times page for these times.
Club Swim Wear
Club swim wear can be bought from the desk on Thursday nights only. We sell goggles personalised club trunks, costumes, bags, and silicone hats care of Wendy Wilson. We also sell a new rugby top along with an outer top and a club cap. Prices are detailed on the club notice board.
Special Events
We hold our Club Championships annually where swimmers in the same club compete against each other. We hold a presentation night on a Saturday evening in January where food and drinks are provided. We then present swimmers trophies for the age group winners. We also run an annual team gala.
We compete against many local swimming teams including Dawlish, Paignton, Newton Abbot, Exmouth and many others in specially organised events. We also compete in the Western Speedo League and the Cornwall and West Devon League.

Awards and Certificates
Swimmers in Silver and Bronze Squads have a chance to gain many badges and certificates. Examples of these are the ASA Competitive Start Award, Speed Awards, Distance Awards and stroke awards. Please keep an eye on the noticeboard for further details. Badges and certificates cost £2 and are normally available from the club desk or on poolside on Thursday evenings.
Training Times
We run several training sessions during the week:
Our main club night is on Thursday night from 4.30pm to 7.30pm (Bronze Squad from 4.30pm to 5.15pm, Silver Squad from 5.15pm to 6.15pm and Gold Squad from 6.15pm to 7.30pm). Swimmers who wish to train more may then invited to one, some, or all of the following sessions:
Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm (split into 3 sessions: 2 sessions of one hour each and one sesison of one and a half hours) (Gold and Silver Squads)
Wednesday mornings from 7am to 8.20am (Gold and Silver Squads)
Friday mornings from 7am to 8.20am (Gold and Silver Squads)
Saturday mornings from 7am to 8.55am (Gold Squad), 7.45am to 8.55am (Silver and Bronze Squad)
Sunday mornings from 7.30am to 9am (Gold Squad), 8am to 9am (Silver and Bronze Squad)
Invitation to attend these sessions depends on ability and availability.

Courses
The club undertakes to train parent helpers or any other interested parties by running a selection of ASA courses for the benefit of the club.
