Kingsbridge Kingfishers Swimming Club is based in Kingsbridge in South Devon. The club started in 1998 with the opening of the new 25m pool at Quayside Leisure Centre and the club has continued to go from strength to strength each year.
We currently have approximately 70 swimming members who are split into 3 squads (Gold, Silver & Bronze) depending upon ability.
Our swimmers compete in a range of team events including local friendly galas, county competitions and open meets.
Over the years many of our club members have been selected to swim for Devon in inter-county competitions. Swimmers who qualify are supported at open meets as well as County, Western Region and National championships. The number of swimmers achieving at this level has increased year on year with our first National medallist taking the podium in 2009.
Our club is affiliated to the Swim England, Devon County ASA and Swim England South West Ltd. We are also proud of our Swim Mark accreditation.

Being inclusive means that regardless of age, gender, race, ability or any other characteristic, our
club allows all members to have an equal opportunity to participate at a level they choose. Being
inclusive means welcoming everyone. Our facilities are accessible to all.
We elect new Club Captains every year. These Club Captains are voted for by all members of Gold Squad. Our current Club Captains for 2022 to 2023 are Jess Stewart and Aaron Lansdale.
Club swim wear is now purchased via Swmzi. The online shop opens several times a year. Parents and swimmers will be informed of the next opportunity. Visit the Club Shop page for more information.
We compete against many local swimming teams including Dawlish, Paignton, Newton Abbot, Exmouth and many others in specially organised events.
We hold our Club Championships each November where swimmers in the same club compete against each other. We hold a presentation night on a Saturday evening in January/February where food and drinks are provided. We then present swimmers' trophies for the age group winners. We also run an Annual Team Gala.
Details can be found in our Diary page.
For many swim meets, and championships, swimmers need to be able to achieve the qualifying times set by the ASA. Please visit the Event Qualifying page for these times.
Swimmers in Silver and Bronze Squads have a chance to gain many badges and certificates. Examples of these are the ASA Competitive Start Award, Speed Awards, Distance Awards and stroke awards. Please keep an eye on the notice board for further details. Badges and certificates cost £2.00 and are normally available from the club desk or on poolside on Thursday evenings.
We have an active and enthusiastic committee, which is vital to the running of our club. New committee members always welcome!
Please remember that we have a regularly updated notice board at the Quayside Leisure Centre. Feel free to browse at your leisure. It includes important information and contact numbers, club rules, activities etc.
The club undertakes to train parent helpers or any other interested parties by running or accessing a selection of ASA courses for the benefit of the club.
