Club Records

Our club records represent the fastest times ever swum by a Kingsbridge Kingfisher in competition. They're updated regularly and they're there to be beaten.

Our short course club records were last updated on 17th March 2026. Long course records are being updated and will be added to this page shortly. You can also check out our Noticeboard at Quayside.

Think you hold a club record? Email kksccoach@gmail.com with the details and we'll check it against our records.

How records are verified

We cross-reference two databases Team Manager, which holds the majority of times swum by club members over the years, and the Swim England database. Because Swim England doesn't always record a swimmer's club correctly, verification takes careful cross-checking and a fair amount of historical knowledge. We take accuracy seriously.

Who can set a club record

To set a KKSC club record, a swimmer must be competing for KKSC in that race. Specifically:

  • A swimmer who has been a first claim KKSC member and is now second claim but is competing for KKSC can set a club record. For example, a swimmer who originally joined and raced for KKSC but now trains at a boarding school and races first claim for that school can still set a KKSC record when competing for us.
  • A swimmer who has never been a first claim KKSC member cannot set a club record even if they race for KKSC in a team or league competition. Borrowed swimmers from other clubs are not eligible.

Updating Club Records

To update the Club Records we check the Team Manager database which holds the majority of times set by club swimmers over the years. We also cross check the times set by KKSC swimmers on the Swim England database. However, the Swim England database may not always note the swimmer's club correctly, so it takes plenty of cross checking with Team Manager and a certain amount of historical knowledge.

To set a KKSC club record the swimmer must compete for KKSC in that race and can be second claim KKSC if they have already competed as first claim for KKSC (eg: initially joined and raced for KKSC but now training at a boarding school and racing first claim for that school). For example if Jo Bloggs is racing for KKSC in a team competition but is first claim a member of another club and has not been a first claim member of KKSC they cant claim a KKSC club record (eg: a 'borrowed' swimmer from a different club racing in a league for KKSC). If Betty Smith has competed as first claim for KKSC, is now second claim KKSC but is competing for KKSC then they can set a KKSC club record.
