Conor Morgan

Head Coach

Conor is the heart of KKSC. A former competitive swimmer turned Head Coach, he brings energy, ambition and a genuine belief that every swimmer can go further than they think. His goal is straightforward: help every Kingfisher compete at the highest level they're capable of — and love every lap getting there.

Fun fact: He once won two episodes of Countdown on Channel 4.

Message to new swimmers & families

"I'm a former competitive swimmer who wants to pass on my love of the sport to the next generation. If you're thinking about joining us come and give it a go. We'd love to have you in the water."

Caro Stephenson

Level 2 Coach

Caro started out as a poolside volunteer, quickly realised she loved it, and hasn't stopped since. A Level 2 Swim England Coach, Level 3 Personal Trainer and lifelong swimmer, she brings serious depth to the role- from junior competing days and years of lifeguarding to a current passion for open water. What drives her most? Watching swimmers grow. From a first gala to a national final, their achievements never stop amazing her.

Fun fact: Caro is the ultimate water baby - her love of the water doesn't stop at the pool. Whether she's open water swimming or doing water sports, water is always involved.

Message to new swimmers & families

"Kingfishers won't just make you a great swimmer — it'll make you feel part of something. It's a big, supportive family. The friendships, the fitness, the fun. There's nothing quite like it."

Maddie Thomson

Level 2 Coach

Maddie joined KKSC when her children joined the club and quickly realised she'd found her place. A Level 2 Coach, Swim Teacher and Open Water Coach with a background in secondary teaching, she brings real breadth to the pool deck. Brilliant with swimmers of all ages and abilities, she has a gift for getting the best out of everyone from bronze squad beginners taking their first race steps to older kids chasing faster times.

Fun fact: If Maddie had a superpower, it would be to breathe underwater.

Message to new swimmers & families

"If you're thinking of joining KKSC, just come and have a go. It's a brilliant, friendly club — and a lot of fun."

Tegan Drew

Coach

Tegan knows what it takes to reach the top. A former international swimmer with three England caps, a British Championship title and an age-group British record, she brings eight years of coaching experience to the KKSC pool deck — including time at Plymouth Leander, one of the UK's top clubs. Backed by a BSc in Psychology, she understands what makes swimmers tick as much as what makes them fast. Attentive, warm and endlessly enthusiastic, she describes her KKSC swimmers as a joy and judging by the smiles poolside, the feeling is entirely mutual.

Fun fact: Tegan's hidden talent is poetry writing — she's an English Language A-Level prize winner.

Message to new swimmers & families

"I remember how daunting it can feel to join a new club. But those nerves fade fast — and taking that small step can open the door to friendships, experiences and opportunities you'd never expect. Everyone starts somewhere. We always make a real effort to help new families feel at home from day one."
