Read what our swimmers, parents and carers think about being part of our club.
Parent
“If you are thinking of joining the club, come and chat to any of the KKSC team - the coaches, committee members and families are very approachable if you have any questions. We were in your shoes a few years ago - once newbies but quickly welcomed, becoming part of the club.”
Parent
“We love being a part of KKSC, both my daughter and I have made new friends (both within the club and with other swimmers/officials/coaches of other clubs), it’s a super friendly team and whether you want to dabble in low level galas or want to try compete against the best at counties or beyond – there is a place for each ambition.”
Swimmer
“Kingfishers has a nice sense of community, everyone gets along and it’s a great form of fitness. It is also a fun way to talk to your friends, and I love the quietness and focus I get when I am in the water.”
Master Swimmer
“Get involved! Swimming is a brilliant sport and KKSC is a great club”.
Parent
“Kingfishers will not only make you a great swimmer, it will also make you feel like part of a supportive and inspiring team. It's so much fun to train with your friends, it feels like a big family. Swimming will build lifelong skills and there is no fitness like swim fitness!”
Parent
“Go for it! The club can be great for all the family, if you want it to be. The environment is fantastic to grow confidence and make new friends.”
Swimmer
“The Kingfishers Swim Club has a massive variety of ages and so no matter what year of life you’re in you’ll no doubt find people your own age to talk to. Everyone is also very supportive, but I do warn you that when you get into the higher levels of our club you will experience great side effects, for example endless blocked noses, colds, constant aching and cramps, but at that point you’re in too deep to get out! On a serious note, swimming is like therapy and really quite good for you, so come to a try-out session and try your hand at this amazing sport.”
Swimmer
“It’s something fun to do and I like pushing myself.”
Parent
“KKSC offers young people the chance to develop a skill that they will carry for the rest of their lives, it’s also fantastic exercise and excellent training for other sports. If you have a child who doesn’t eat well, or stays up too late, then swimming can also be a great way to solve these problems. I now have one daughter who finally gobbles down her dinner, and another who I can get to sleep before 10pm! The club is a very welcoming and supportive place, and the children all seem to enjoy coming along”.
Swimmer
“I love the buzz that I get from swimming, and the fact that it is making me fitter and stronger. And seeing all my friends!”
Parent
“I would whole-heartedly recommend the wonderful KKSC to anyone
considering joining a swimming club. The coaches, volunteers, officials andcommittee members are all super friendly and welcoming and the swimmers are exceptional at supporting each other and looking out for their fellow clubmembers of all ages and abilities.”
Swimmer
“It keeps me fit, I feel challenged and it gives me a focus outside of school”
Master Swimmer
“I remember how daunting it can be to join a new club, but those nerves fade quickly and taking that small step outside your comfort zone can open the door to so many opportunities, experiences, friendships and life skills! Everyone starts somewhere, and we always make a real effort to help new families feel comfortable and part of the group from day one”.
